About Me.Hi, my name is Christopher Castro and I am a UX/UI Product Designer. I'm passionate about taking complex interactions, breaking them down into usable components, and making them beautifully simple.
When I started in the industry, after a major life change, I was unsure what I wanted to do. Through exploration of my interests, I knew I had a natural talent for graphic design. This led me to pursue an education in Web Development at The University of Phoenix. After graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, I felt something was missing and wanted more challenges. I decided that my genuine passion was User Experience Design and joined Coursera's UX Certificate program affiliated with Google. While in this program, I found my true calling: being a designer who focuses on creating usable products for everyone from all walks of life. Having empathy for all users ensures I design products with users' best interests at heart. The skills gained while in this program helped me to think critically about issues users may have when interacting with digital products. This allows me to come up with creative solutions and advocate for the needs of all users so they can have smooth experiences with digital content. I firmly believe in the 5 Stages of Design Thinking: Empathize: research your users' needs. Define: state your users' needs and problems. Ideate: challenge assumptions and create ideas. Prototype: create solutions. Test: try your solutions out. Adhering to these tenets firmly ensures a more well-rounded and User-centric experience in the product development lifecycle. |
